Imagination

“The tree which moves some to tears of joy is in the eyes of others only a green thing that stands in the way. Some see nature all ridicule and deformity… and some scarce see nature at all. But to the eyes of the man of imagination, nature is imagination itself.”
~ William Blake

Watch me paint a realistic bouquet, #2

I’m working on a realism piece and have taken snapshots of the process. I’d like to share them with you! This is the next phase.

If you have any questions or comments, I’d love to hear them…

I decided that I needed to pull out the flowers from the foliage. I drew in the rest of the detail in the bouquet and began with light washes of a green I made with cadmium yellow and cobalt blue. I can now see the shapes of the flowers!

Watch me paint a realistic bouquet, …the beginning

I’ve been remiss in posting. Crazy, busy couple of weeks.

Forgive the lighting on this one, I hadn’t yet decided to post these.

This piece is 11 x 15, here I’ve done the background and the vase. The flowers and leaves are left white. You can’t see it in the photos but I had drawn the outline, in graphite, of the shadow and the flowers.

more to come…

Greeting Cards!

I’m really excited to be able to offer my art as GREETING CARDS! These are really high quality cards, printed with archival inks on acid-free, heavyweight paper with a deckle edge – you could even frame them and give them as gifts. All the work you can see in my print section can be put on a card. All you have to do is contact me here and tell me which pieces of art you want on them and then purchase either a single card or a set of 5 and I will do the rest. All cards come with deckle edge envelopes. Card sets come boxed.

For those who love art but the price of an original painting, print or a Hallmark mass-produced one is out of reach… buy an original art card!

They are here.
